It is impossible put a title or label on the timer. If you start some timers you will forget the subject about each one.

I use this it daily - can we have more than six hours, though ? (& longer alarm sounds, please) Thx !
Minutes is a cute little timer that works well. The app description doesnt mention it, but there are a bunch of additional commands available from the menubar, incluidng the ability to keep Minutes on top of other windows. I would give it five stars if I could set the allarm to keep ringing longer (it only goes off for a couple of seconds, and its not exactly a piercing sound). It would also be nice if there were more colour choices, or I could choose a custom colour for the bezel.
I bought about 3 other timer apps before finding this one, they were all too complicated and finicky. This one is the best one, plus it looks great!! My only wish list to improve this wonderful little app is below, but whatever you do, please keep it as simple and effective as this one! :) - can we please have a few more ring tones? This one is great, but when I have more than one alarm (and one of them is recurrent), I dont know which one is ringing. (I know we have access to choosing an iTunes song, but it takes a while for iTunes to start, and if I already have music playing, I dont notice it as much as an alarm sound). Maybe just one or two more rings would be great. - can we please get a volume control independent from the main volume control? sometimes I am keeping the music quite at a low volume, but I would like to have more volume to the alarm so I can hear it!! :) Otherwise, thank you!! Great app!!
the problem is I am not sure why I am still stting on the fence with this one.
Weve been looking for a simple way to keep our meetings during in check. Minutes is easy to startup and set. Its ability to float on top of other windows is very useful and everyone can see how much time is left. There arent a lot of features, but thats what makes it great. You set the amount of time you want and when it expires, there is an audible alarm. Perfect.
Good for when you want to commit to working for a certain number of minutes and want to be able to check at a glance how much longer you have until your next break.
App does what it says. If you need multiple timers this is the way to go. Easy to use, but I wish theres a place to add notes to. After making 5 alarms, I forgot what each meant.
The simplicity is what makes this app so great. I would give this app 5-stars if only the timer could be set as long as 12 hours. I want to set a timer specifically to time my entire work day, and 6 hours doesnt do it.
Thats the best "little" timer ever :-))))) 99cts is a complete fair price for it. If you hesitate buying it because it cost money, cmon, less than 1$ !! And I say that… Ive hesitated during 1 week before buying it ! Now I wonder why I was hesitating ? Love the user interface. Love the "feeling" of it. Its totally awesome for frozen pizzas. You know, the ones you have to let in the oven between 14-17 minutes. Used to forgot them… now this time is ended.
I love it. The only 2 concerns I have are : 1. The alarm is not long enough. It would be cool to have the option to repeat the alarm for as long as we dont click it or something. 2. I can only put the timers on my main screen. Id like to drag them to other less crowded and secondary screens. Those are the only two things that this app need to get a 5-stars rating. Great job!
Simple and useful. Nice.
...it would be great if we could write a small message... for example..."pick up kids"..."dinner" etc
i find this app very useful, as a timer, an alarm clock. but a few things i want the app to offer 1 more themes 2 more time frame(it is up to 6 hours), if i got to use it as an alarm, i need more hours. 3 when choose the alarm sound, can the sound be repeated, not just the task be repeated. all in all, an absolutely 5 star app. and its cheap.
I was needing a simple timer so I didnt have to use my iPhone all the time, and this app is perfect. Ive got 3 timers set up for different things. Would love to see more colors though, and an input field so we can keep track of what were using the timer for. Ive got this app in my startup items so its always ready to go when I need it. Thanks for creating this!
It would be great to have the design at the right resolution for Macbook retina display. You can clearly see the pixels on it.
After update - I dont know how to stop and start timer from keyboard - I dont feel I know when the timer is running and when it is stopped - very high CPU usage. each timer takes ~20% of CPU (so 3 timers take ~60% CPU) - tested on Yosemite - old version at least worked, and was clear to me how to operate it
I could not believe my eyes when I saw that Minutes, after all these years, finally got an update. I am so excited. I used to love this simple app so much, but stopped using it as other things crept up to take it’s place, but now with this update, I’m back baby! They totally redsigned and addressed my biggest issue with the app in the first place, the alarm was easy to miss. I love the way they’ve improved the alarm, this time you’ll definitely know when it fires. New and more colorful than ever, this is exactly the kind of thing I want out of a small app that just does one thing, and onc thing wonderfully. Thanks guys for getting back to us and doing a great job in the process!
Some of the useful features are now missing: No repeat alarm function. No keyboard method to increase or decrease the amount of time. The countdown timer shows only whole minutes until the last 59 seconds, so you can’t tell if the timer is running! They included other sounds for the timer, but I actually liked to original sound and they’ve taken that out. Why not make it an option? When the timer goes off annoying colored circles appear on the screen with the timer. Totally unneeded and should be an option you can control (but it’s not!). All the timers are now the same drab translucent grey. Before there were 4 color choices, and those were helpful because I had a differnt color for each timer. Overall, not a good update! ============================== Review of version 1 Minutes is a simple app and thats what I like about it. I keep a few different timers on screen and I just click on the timer that suits the need: 5, 15, or 30 minute. It keeps me on task, and the timers remind me get back to work or start a new task. Some of the other reviewers additions would be helpful but I do enjoy its effective simplicity.
I opened this app today and gasped in horror that it had been updated. I have long appreciated version 1 for its simple interface and lack of distracting UI. The new version is uglier, less customizable, and harder to configure. Please bring back 1.0 (or release it on your web site)!
