Minutes App Reviews

67 Customer Reviews:

Seemed to be the best option for a simple timer, that did not have all the extra bells and whistles complications with the other more organizer/calendar based timers. However, I have noticed that if the timer is started, then placed in the background while working in other programs, the timer will fall way behind. On the order of 10’s of minutes. Completely defeats the purpose of setting a timer for working on a specific item for a set amount of time. Any way for a refund or a fix?

This is a nice, simple little timer. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been updated in many years, and the non-retina graphics make it look out of place on my rMBP.

Simple - Just the right size

Using as countdown monitor for various tasks. Easy to set, nice small size. I like it!

Minutes if placed in the background for some reason falls WAY BEHIND, which completely defeats the purpose of the app! I’m going to give 5 stars with a haope of a fix because if fixed this is a perfect app. If not fixed I will discount the stars.

Something happened in a recent version of OS X that causes this timer to totally faily at its central task of keeping time. it will fun way way behind, even on short stints of 5 minutes it will fall up to a minute or more behind. That said, it’s a great little app. I genuinely wish the creator would update it to fix this bug, because it’s the best simple timer app out there - or at least it was.

I used to have this app as a dashboard widget (for free). I loved its easy set it and forget it interface, and the simple box that popped up with a chime when the timer was complete. I lost that app in a series of computer switches, and happily paid my $2 to get it back. It seems in this version, the visual reminder of the timer completion is removed, so I have to remember to keep my headphones on or it will chime once and be easily missed. If the timer is set for longer than a few minutes, it will gradually lose time and no longer be accurate. I set a timer for 65 minutes and by the end of this stretch of time, it was a full 10 minutes late. Developers, I want my money back!

As other, up to date, reviews have mentioned: this timer DOES NOT KEEP TIME!! So if you set it for 70 minutes it wil take more like 85 to 100 minutes to run for that length!! It does just one thing, and it does it completely wrong!! It once was a great app that I used everyday. Now it serves no function. :(
