Simple & elegant, but missing just 1 key capability
Its just a timer. It does one thing, but it does it very well. You can create an arbitrary number of independent timers (but without the ability to name the timers, youll probably never use more than a few at a time). Each timer can be customized in a few ways:
- Appearance (4 "themes" available)
- What it should do when the timer completes (play a built-in alarm sound and optionally repeat, start playing iTunes, stop playing iTunes and optionally sleep the Mac)
- Whether the window floats or not
I like the little flourishes in the app. When you create a new Timer, it drops from the top of the screen and bounces. When you close it, it fades away. When the timer goes off, the window shakes like an angry alarm clock.
Minutes provides convenient keyboard shortcuts to: reset/start the timer; set the timer to 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes; add/remove a minute.
There is just one key capability that I need that Minutes does not have, and that is the ability to pause the timer. If you click on a timer that is running, it will reset it.
